When is degrassi showdown

Degrassi 's got their groove back! I've actually been thoroughly impressed with Showdown so far, even if I've had to ignore the Eclare bits.

Good going DegrassiWriters. Even the most critical of Degrassi fans loved the first week of Showdown. That first week of episodes Come As You Are and Walking On Broken Glass is a prime example of what happens when everything comes together, and every plot in every episode is worth watching.

Mike Dallas Dallas is freaking awesome from a character perspective. They managed to establish depth to his character without giving him an actual storyline of his own granted, the fact he was in nearly every episode of Showdown helped. This is coming from the captain of the junior hockey team, and despite being aware that he has no future in hockey he sticks with it.

Oh, and there is that little thing about the garden getting destroyed. Did Dallas physically take part? Did he tell Luke and then they did it together? Did he complain about both Katie and Tristan to Luke, then Luke went off on his own and did it? This was the block of couples acting like normal couples who have things to do outside of hanging out with each other. After the whole Krew drama died down and Drew dropped out, he and Bianca were so busy doing their own things that Drew felt out of the loop.

And the whole reason that Dave joined the play was because Alli was hyper focused on school. Either way, I enjoyed it. These teenage characters talked more like teens. The dialogue between friends was wittier and it allowed for them to play off each other well. The niners are the masters of all of this, but we saw it a lot more with the other characters as well. There were also great moments that none of us were expecting: KC leaving, Cam jumping and the show killing off Volta and showing the corpse.

There were times where the promo for the next day would focus on something other than the main plot. But him dropping out and essentially drifting away from the rest of the characters seemed to be a head scratcher. The show knows this, which is why they had Drew move in with Fiona.

People attack people over stupid stuff all the time, you know over things like characters and couples on a cheesy Canadian teen drama. Like Like.

Definitely agree with this post! Nice job : I really did think the writing improved and the plots seemed more relatable to me. I did not see this eco-friendly behavior coming…no one did! The fight was bad…it was sooo overhyped by promos and the whole team thing. Clare plot? Not sure, but overall season 12 has been amazing up to this point. I hope the writers keep it going into the fall block. I was bored one day last season and went and followed the links to the character Twitters and perused their tweets.

They usually setup what happens in the coming episode, and after, and fill in time. On a sidenote: if you thought Clare was annoying last season, her tweets took it to a whole new level.

Seeing these two interact together and experience awkward dates reminded me of Melanie and Snake from Degrassi Junior High who never had successful dates.

BTW Maya alone is what Melanie would have been if she were a musician. They are basically how a couple should be handled on Degrassi. Now, in terms of how they are going to be handled in the second half of Season 12 is going to be interesting to see.

He is without a doubt one of the best additions to the show along with the Niners and Cam. The fact that we see this guy as neither good or bad is amazing itself.

For Zig, he redeemed himself in his storyline about being poor and was able to wow me with his insecurities towards himself and Tori. Also, Ricardo Hoyos had some improved acting and made this episode surprise me. For Cam, he masterfully showed both his happy and dark side in his storyline about feeling the pressure of hockey. Dylan Everett was wonderful in this plot. This episode is easily a highlight of Degrassi: Showdown given it was relatable and executed realisitically. Some great acting by Cristine Prosperi especially during the hospital scene in Part Two.

Thank you! The Degrassi producers put in more effort which I commend them for. That scene left me in stitches lol. This character is useless at this point and I fail to see why Drew is getting any screentime if he is not going to Degrassi.

Please writers, give this show some saving grace and just write this character off. Fiona Coyne — Every episode that Fiona was in during Degrassi Showdown showed how much her character is deteriorating. Write her off, please. Her romantic chemistry with Imogen is still dull and the writers are making a lame attempt to throw another love interest her way.

It is ironic how the first week of Degrassi: Showdown was the best and Fiona did not appear in any of the episodes. However, the season had a weak point when Jake Martin turned into a male version of Emma Nelson by trying to build a eco-friendly garden. Talk about out of character. It was almost like I was watching an episode from Season 8. And the fight scene is the worst one in Degrassi history. Overall, I loved this season mainly because it is a improvement over seasons that have had hit or miss episodes.

Getting the cast members together at once though is probably a rarity:. Like Like. Interesting promo… I like the way that it was filmed, but I really wish that Fiona or Imogen was in it… Wth? Shark In the Water had this sense of foreboding and pressure, while Steal Your Heart had this really lovely buzz of energy with darkness hidden beneath the surface.

Bout fuckin time. That promo was crap. Shark in the water was a zillion times better. Not even all the characters are even in it. Teennicks first clip was better than this shit. Remember those episode summaries we got at the end of S11, about the divide in the school and Mr. That was a Clare plot. Funny promo. I figured it would be a bit more dramatic, but the theme sort of fits with the whole showdown.

I agree with whoever mentioned Clare being the center of attention. It reminds me of the fireworks promo where SO much time was centered around dancing with fireworks. If you really think about it, where would Fimogen have fit in if they were in this promo? I just wished the promo would have been worked in a way where every character was at least seen at some point like Shark in the Water.

And why so much attention devoted to Clare? Stephen Stohn apparently hinted at her drinking or something. Drew is slipping away from her. I really liked this promo. I know a lot of people are saying it was bad, but I think it was just a lot different than the other two.

It was really more focused on one concept than the other ones. Black really doesnt look good with her skin tone, the actress should try red, i bet it would look really pretty. She went goth before she even had any type of relationship with Craig. Her main reason for going goth was because she messed up everything in the season finale of season 1 by taking drugs. Paige, Jimmy and all her other friends except Terri wanted nothing to do with her. In comparison to what a lot of other characters dealt with and went through, Ashley practically had it the easiest next to Hazel.

I LOVE this promo! I thought the concept was a great idea. So Tristan will get picked on by the Hockey team. I think it was more a metaphor for Star crossed lovers… they are pulled away at the end, Maya by Tori and Cam by some guys in the hockey jackets….

I think the metaphors in those were a little different than the Stargazers one, but they were there. All feelings aside on not showing all of the characters on the promo, I can not stop watching it by the sheer awesomeness of how it was filmed. Also, I can totally see why her and the new character would be torn apart with him being a member of the anti-Tristan hockey team, and Tori ripping Maya away from them because she cares about Tristan. I like that storyline. It seems like more than just a play tif… They look like they are going to punch each other in the face.

I thought she may be getting pulled in different directions by the Jesus Club and her open-mindedness. Lastly, Degrassi having an Astronomy club sounds awesome to me. Rewatching it a second time, this promo is awesome!

You could tell it was planned out well in advance. Not to mention, it was way too similar to the actual Augustana video. She was directly in the centre for the final shots and had this look of pure terror on her face… I wonder why…. I noticed that, too! Coincidence or hint? I really liked the promo. I thought the way it was presented was fantastic and that it gave small hints into overlapping story lines.

As for the Clare focus, I think it just shows that either 1. I actually really liked this promo, much better then the steal your heart promo. I just wish they used the whole cast..

I wish ali,Jenna,Fiona, and imogen were included. I think Bite Your Tongue is a more clever, biting approach for the big summer promo this time around. LOL at Katie parading Drew around like a trophy boyfriend. I can tell TeenNick is trying to sell us on a future Katie vs. This love triangle needs to just die. Hope to GOD that nothing romantic will happen between them. He already has enough romantic stuff to sort out with Clare.

I thought for sure they would play that card like they always do, haha. Could TeenNick finally be growing some brains about their lame marketing? And I hope this means Adam and Tristan will become friends! Interesting that Tori and Mike are pulling the two of them apart. I hope this means Tori and Maya really will be friends because Zig is so not worth the fight, hah. Is Clare actually NOT apart of ridiculous drama this semester? Dying at Justin and Demetrius whaling on each other, hahah.
